These terms apply to anyone using First Light, including students, employers, and invited users. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to follow these terms.
Service description
First Light provides a platform that helps students and employers create accounts, share placement-related information, and manage placement opportunities. The service may change as we improve it.
Your responsibilities
You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge, keep your login details secure, and use the platform in good faith. Students should only submit profile details and links they are comfortable sharing with relevant employers through the service.
Acceptable use
You must use the service lawfully and honestly. Do not upload misleading information, impersonate someone else, infringe anyone else’s rights, try to access accounts that are not yours, scrape data from the platform, or interfere with the operation or security of the service.
Profiles, role briefs, and matching
First Light may show student profiles to employers and employer role briefs to students in order to support matching. We may use automated and AI assisted tools to help compare student profiles with employer role briefs and surface potentially relevant matches. These tools support matching and discovery, but they do not guarantee suitability, availability, employment, or any placement outcome. Employers remain responsible for their own review, selection, and hiring decisions.
References and third-party content
If you invite a referee or share a third-party link, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to do so. We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe material is misleading, unlawful, unsafe, or otherwise inappropriate for the platform.
Suspension or termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the service if we reasonably believe an account is being used in breach of these terms, presents a security risk, or could harm other users or the platform.
Limitation of liability
We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every listing, profile, or placement outcome will meet your expectations. To the extent permitted by law, First Light is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.
